A/N: Thanks to kel_reiley  for the beta. This is completely AU and it probably helps if you are at least vaguely familiar with the Sam Spade/Philip Marlowe style of detective novel or movie. Hardboiled detectives falling fast and hard for the wrong person, femme fatales who seduce the hero and then set him up for murder, and a sweet heroine who pines for the unheeding detective. It’s all about style over substance and yes, I know the negatives thing is nonsensical.

Summary: It’s a wild and stormy night in the city of Angels and Private detective Matt Parkman is up to his neck in murder and blackmail.
