I saw him fly, soar in the sky
Unfurling wings, light as the air,
and tumble laughing,
without a care.
I heard him sing,
that perfect boy,
Sweet as a lark,
bright in the darkness
of my heart.
I shot at arrow, I made a net,
I set a trap,
I laid a snare.
I dragged him
from the air, I brought him down,
down to the ground.
I clipped his wings
and chained his feet.
His wings he spreads
to span his world,
that is, the cage
I keep him in.
My pretty sings
no more songs.
Sweet smiles on his lips
play no more.
No more brightness
lights his eyes.
He beats his fists
against the glass.
He weeps, he begs,
and flies no more.
My pretty thing,
in perfect cage,
I love too much
to risk his flight.
And so he stays,
I keep him safe,
Inside the glass,
the cage,
the bed.
Forever mine.

Date: 2010-01-27 04:31 am (UTC)In my mind it’s a lonely Matt that takes down a free flying Mohinder and basically worships him. And the last line killed me!! Hot and creepy at the same time. Guh!
Beautiful. Creepy beautiful perfection!! LOVED IT!! <3
