Is the spoiler you speak of the one about the finale where Matt goes darker and more evil than Syler?

Matt's coming back next week according to the episode description and promo. I'm guessing that Matt in purging Syler's powers winds up with them himself either by accident or by design.

When Peter aquired them in Villians they nearly consumed him. I could see something similar happening with Matt.

Well the description for next ep is 'Sylar goes to visit Matt but Matt has a plan.' Description for the week after that is, in part, 'Peter rescues Sylar' (moron).

Yesterday I read that Peter rescues Sylar from being trapped in his own nightmare, so I'm guessing that's Matt's plan. Which succeeds, until bloody Peter messes it up!

You could make the argument that Syler was equally stupid for trusting Matt in the first place. It serves him right for Matt to put his mind in a blender and hit puree.

HA! Yeah, but Sylar's never been the brains trust, Matt'll just be the latest to turn the tables on him.

I have no sympathy for Sylar trapped in a nightmare. I've never bought the 'misunderstood sensitive soul' stuff, he kills people and he enjoys it. Leave him in there, Peter!

It's possible whatever he does do to Syler it changes him, contaminates him with Syler's evil. Or unleashes that dark part of himself he's kept in check. Kind of like a genie in a bottle.

I think Matt's always had a dark side and he's been meandering towards going bad since the first series when he stole the diamonds. His increasing use of mind control, especially with Sylar's goading, makes him pretty morally grey.

He's such a sensitive guy always worried about what people think about him and those, like idealists such as Peter and Hiro, are the ones to fear when they get corrupted. Pragmatists like HRG and cynics like Nathan are always able to maintain a sense of perspective. Wounded innocents and romantics rarely can.
