Yes, to protect the websites. There's such a ridiculous amount of hysteria 'to protect the children' that I think *not* having a warning will leave websites at risk of being targeted. Certainly having a warning of 'adult content' isn't going to stop any teens or children, if anything it'll encourage them.
I think generally accepted social norms of 'adult content' is swearing, violence, sex, and nudity isn't it? Sounds roughly appropriate to me.
