For my course homework over the next week, I have to develop 3 or 4 characters 'in depth' with as much detail and as three dimensionally as possible.
I'd really like to be able to use the characters I work on in my fic, so are there any charactersin ongoing serials that you'd really like to see explored more/expanded on? Or other characters introduced? For instance Hiro's Adam in Toy 'Verse or Matt in Echolalia. Or another character in something completely different.
And, since I'm being really cheeky already, what information is interesting and useful and what's just boring and distracting?
Thank you! <3

Date: 2009-11-12 04:03 pm (UTC)Adam falls for Matt hard and fast, attracted by Matt’s strength, warmth, kindness and his compassion. Adam is still bitter and cynical about mankind but he idealises Matt. Adam had been followed by his ‘disciples’ until they betrayed him and in many of his previous relationships he had been the senior partner. He was surprised by the relief at Matt not looking to him for guidance and instead being the one taking the lead. He continually tests Matt; first legally, by using stolen credit cards, then trying to steal cable, and minor shoplifting, and later, more generally, by teasing and pushing boundaries. Adam reassures himself of Matt’s continuing affection and reliability by pushing and testing just enough to get confirmation without spurring an angry response. It takes Adam a long time to really open up to Matt and talk not about the failed plots but about his personal, private history. But practically living at the apartment with Matt, Molly, and Mohinder gives Adam a sense of family he hasn’t had in a long time. Even Mohinder’s jealousy and envy, despite Adam’s playful comments about being locked in the basement, aren’t enough to make him feel uncomfortable there.
The novelty of holding down a crappy job and dealing with people who treat him as nobody particularly special allows him not to take it too seriously although he certainly complains enough. Adam is, more than anything, a survivor and deep down he has enough sense of proportion and patience to put up with the job and Mohinder because he sees the big picture. Adam always has a plan that he’s working towards, whether it’s world destruction or settling down with Matt. He’s wary of playing the parent with Molly initially and is happy to be claimed as naughty elder brother and confidante. He has no wish to take responsibility for anyone just yet, the sting of the betrayal is still too raw. Adam has no plans to try again however and the reappearance of Maury is a painful, embarrassing one. Maury stirs up memories of the betrayal and unpleasant realisations of the human effects of their plans and plotting. Matt was only a child when Adam last saw Maury and that is another realisation Adam would rather not deal with. Given a choice Adam would never think about the past, believing strongly that it is better to move on rather than be weighed down.
Matt and Adam move in together after they’ve been dating for just over four months and Adam proposes two months later. They marry in Canada with Molly as bridesmaid and only a handful of very close friends there.
As the government clamps down on the rights and movements of Specials, Adam and Matt find themselves torn. Matt believes that the persecution will pass, that it is for the greater good, but Adam is terrified. Although it takes some time, Adam finally persuades Matt that they need to leave the country, while it’s still legal for Specials to travel. They arrange to flee one weekend but before they can, Matt and Molly are caught up in the catastrophic collapse of a stadium.
