I'm researching for a sequel to 'Whipping Boy' and found out there have been four gay kings of England and one lesbian queen so far. That's two more kings and one more queen then I knew about :D

Plus of course those are just the relatively indescreet ones. I have no doubt there were others who didn't go around sending love letters and showering money and jewels on their lovers :D

Edward II (the one people generally know)

James I of England/VI of Scotland (the other one I knew, he of the King James bible and the gunpowder plot)

William II (who I'm ashamed to say, I hadn't heard of)

Richard I aka Richard the Lionheart who apparently had a long-term thing with Philip II Augustus King of France.

I am sorry to say that the story between Richard I And Philippe Auguste (the french name of Philip II Augustus) is a legend, created centuries after their deaths. But you are true about Richard I, I had forgotten (I forgotten?? I forgot?? I have forgotten???). Well, I need to work better my english conjugation.
