Help please?

I have my penultimate assignment for my Creative Writing course to do and I'm stuck for ideas. It has to be 2000 words so it can't be anything very complicated. (2000 words is hardly anything, even my little stories tend to be at LEAST 3500.)

Last time I did a prose assignment I adapted Echolalia to a 'day in the life' type thing and that worked pretty well. If anyone has any prompts or suggestions I would VERY grateful.
