Writer's Block: News development

Chernobyl maybe? So I would've been 8 at the time. I guess I must've seen it on the television as my parents didn't really discuss news. Must've been an interesting episode of Newsround...

I don't know how it impacted my world view. I suppose it's an interesting coincidence that the first news event I remember being a massive catastrophe and me working in safety, but to be honest aren't most major news events disasters of some kind?
