Writer's Block: Doctor Who?

[Error: unknown template qotd]Richard E Grant or ooh! Stephen Fry :D Because they can both portray that blend of childlike wonder, intelligence, idealism, and eccentricity.

Although [livejournal.com profile] boudecia7 's joking suggestion of Greg Grunberg is still making me snigger several days after she made it :) Sendhil Ramamurthy would actually be pretty awesome if we're allowed Americans.

Dr Who - Miidnight

Okay, I will try and be vaguely coherent.

OMFG that was AMAZING! Absolute, instant classic.

Casting was stonking, hello (Lesley Sharp) Rose from Bob & Rose! You brought your A game and I salute you for it.
David Troughton! Great actor and son of Doctor 2. Shame he didn't have more to do than bluster but never mind.
David Tennant who I am normally 'meh' about was excellent, really sold the rising panic and terror, bravo.
Ayesha Antoine (Dee Dee) You didn't have much but you did a lot with it.
Colin Morgan (Jethro) snarky, clever and goth. Perfecto.
Lindsey Coulson (Val) monstrous in an all too believable way

Story was what really sold it to me. Reminded me of Lord of The Flies and the Twilight Zone episode 'The Monsters are due on Maple Street' and those are two of my favourite things. Is it bad that I really enjoy stories about people's terror eroding their civilised veneers and revealing the snarling savage beneath? Meh, I don't care.

Makes me wonder what the kiddies are going to think.

Next week: Rose returns. Bugger. I have no time for 'Twu wuv! Wose is SOOOO FANTASTIC'. Bleugh.
