Hey All, In around a month or so we're going to ask for fic prompts for Greg Grunberg's other roles. Not everyone has access to DVDs or recordings of Grunny's other roles so we thought it might be fun, and helpful, to post up recaps of his other work. Hopefully this will give people a chance to see the other characters he’s played and the universe they operate in so they’ll have a better chance of prompting for a story.

If anyone would like to write a recap please let me know and I’ll link your recap to this post. Where he’s played a character in a series, a recap for one or two episodes or a character and series description would be great. Here's a list of Grunny's other roles along with links to recaps I've already done. I’ve only included roles that I’ve seen/have access too so if anyone wants to do a recap for, say, “Bond of Silence” then go for it. Where TWOP recaps are available I’ve linked to those too. As we fill these in I'll post up the links.

So, I'm starting watching 'Lost' today for the remaining Matt-a-thon fics we have. I managed to get series 1 on DVD fairly cheap and they're also clearly the original DVDs and not any kind of reissue since the million and one adverts are for equally old shows and movies. Such as series 3 of Alias (NO clips of Weiss but lots of Marshall? Sheesh), Desperate Housewives series 1 and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Unfortunately the people responsible for the HHGttG trailer seemed to be under the impression it was mostly an action adventure movie with a bit of Men In Black thrown in. Hmm, not so much.

Mega Spider

It really feels like I should put some exclamation marks on the end of that title. Mind you it sounds like a William Castle film to me so what do I know?

Anyway, I found this synopsis here:

Shooting commences today on Mega Spider, the nature-run-amok film from Gravedancers director Mike Mendez.

Cameras are rolling in the Los Angeles area and Shock has learned the project will star Heroes' Greg Grunberg and Alexis Peters (Hatchet II).

Here's a synopsis to snack on until more updates come in: Surviving extermination by nuclear eradication, a horrible alien mutation in arachnid form is now growing at an exponential rate and making its way toward downtown Los Angeles. Hot on its spindly heels is a crack military unit with absolute authority, lead by an obsessively driven commander and his beautiful but lethal sidekick.

Unfortunately for them, this mutant spider has an array of deadly defenses including the ability to virtually disappear through camouflage. But the creature’s real adversary quickly turns out to be a hot-shot local exterminator armed only with cocky attitude, some fast one-liners and his home-made gadgets. Joining forces with the military team, this blue-collar hero sets out to exterminate what has now become a monstrous 10-story tall MEGA SPIDER.

What do we reckon, Grunny for blue collar hero or obsessive commander?

ETA - he's the hot-shot exterminator. Whoo!

No spoilers because I am rabidly avoiding spoilers.

But my Empire arrived and there's a picture of *lead actor* on the front cover so I'm already more spoiled than I'm happy about :( And now I'm afraid to open up the magazine.

I LOVE Sherlock Holmes, I've read all the novels and all the stories. I've also watched every adaptation I can get my hands on including They Might Be Giants, and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes Smarter Younger Brother, which was not good but I mention as an extreme example of what I'll watch. I love reimagining's generally, but given that I have a reasonable idea of how the characters are going to go down I DON'T want to know anything else. At all. No casting, no costuming, and absolutely NO PLOT.

I've already been spoiled on Alice in Wonderland casting due to LJ posts with no cuts but I'm really hoping that won't happen with Sherlock Holmes. Pretty please with sugar on top?
